This series of Rose Window Frames give stained glass artesans and hobbyists the ability to fashion works of art based on the rose windows found in the great cathedrals of the world.
The frames are made of a super fine wood composite that cuts very clean, and resists warping due to heat or sunshine when placed in sunlit windows.
Frames are double sided, which means that there are actually two frames sandwiched together that give a finished look from both front and back. Also each geometric cutout on both frame sides is beveled, greatly adding to the three dimensional look of the frame. (See photo below).
There is a 1/4 inch gap space enclosed between the two frames that fit leaded or copper foil glass, or you can use imitation stained glass paints on a circle of clear plastic (for people who don’t work with real glass). The frame comes with two hanging holes ready for a decorative cord, chain, or wire. Frames are then painted using your color of choice, and can be applied in any of the modern techniques, such as sponge painting, imitation stone paints, or marbleizing.
The glass that you provide sits sandwiched in between the two halves of the frame, and is held in place by the outer rims. Once the halves are reassembled in the painted frames, the glass is securely fixed in place and needs no further attention.
Then you just place or hang the rose window in your favorite window setting, and enjoy a reverie of color and form throughout the day, while during the evening the passersby get to enjoy the lit up rose window from outside the house. |

Construction of Double Sided Rose Window Frames |

Frames have double sided construction, which means that there are actually two frames sandwiched together that give a finished look from both front and back. Also each geometric cutout on both frame sides is beveled, greatly adding to the three dimensional look of the frame. The photo clearly shows the double frames and their beveled openings. | |
